Country tournament

EPC would not be complete without a battle between countries. Registration for the country tournament is closed now. The participating team are listed below.

Team players do not take part in the first round of the individual qualification for the main tournament on Saturday afternoon. The players of the four teams that reach the semi-finals (16 players) are automatically qualified for the finals on Sunday. The players of the other four teams join the best players of the first round of the individual qualification who didn't qualify for the finals for a second chance of qualification on Saturday night. Eventually 48 players will qualify for the finals on Sunday.

Spanish team getting ready for EPC 2005

Great to see that many of the teams are practicing for the country tournament. Here is a message we received from one member of the Spanish team on May, 3rd.:

"This is Richard, the webmaster of Pinball World, the first Spanish Website about pinballs. As you know, the Spanish team is ready for the EPC 2005. That is the first time that a Spanish Team competes in an international contest. So there is a great expectation in Spain for this competition. We have dedicate an special space for the EPC in Pinball World. And we started this section with an interview to each of the four Spanish contestants who are going to participate in the EPC. There is an extensive interview in our website. I am afraid that our website is only in Spanish but could be useful for all the pinball community who speaks or reads Spanish, or just take a look to the photos of these 4 Spanish Wizards. Keep da pinball rollin'!"

Swiss team

"The team captain, Röbi, was responsible for recruting the swiss pinball team. So, in contrast of the Holland team, the swiss guys didn't have to qualify for the national team. Röbi is the most experinced player of the team. He played already on several pinball tournaments in europe. The rest of the team is quite young but they have also participated on several tournaments. The aim of the group is just to have a great time in Zwanenburg and bring the gold medal to Switzerland."

Team Sweden

"Hi! We just wanted to say that we swedes really are looking forward to the tournaments. We feel that we have a rather strong team, with all players having had previous international competition experience. Our team is composed of the players ending up top four in last years Swedish Championships. There are also a lot of other swedes coming down for the singles tournament. See you all!"

Team Belgium

4 Belgian pinball freaks... yet unknown, but soon to be... "Now, that's an army!".

Under the slogan "participating is more important than winning" we will play this country tournament with a reduced stress level. As everybody knows, the game you play before and after the tournament goes a lot smoother, with a higher score as a result. Having a good time and playing a lot of pins is the main driver for us. However, don't be too optimistic when you face us. We will sell our skin very expensive...

We just might be the big surprise nobody expected...

About the players: Lieven and Dennis play with focus on playing technique, while David is a more tactical player. Pascal sure knows how to literally 'beat' the hell out of pinball machines. So beware...
